Ay Chihuahua is a great little hole in the wall for lunch. Advertised as authentic Mexican, it is surely reminiscent of small family run Mexican seen all along the west coast of the states. We ordered posole and chicken quesadilla. The posole was filled with chucks of fork tender pork, hominy and a delicious, moderately spicy broth. Fried tortilla chips and greens were on the side, to add to the soup as you liked. The quesadilla was also very good, but I would definitely return for another bowl of their posole. 5 stars for that, worth the trip!
Fresh tasting food (everything on the menu) I ate the enchiladas and chicken tacos. Both had good flavor. Ask for the house hot sauce, it's got a little kick to it! The atmosphere is authentic and takes you to Mexico. The staff are friendly and the owner will take time out of his busy day to say hello which made the whole experience great. Order a Mexican Coca Cola as it tastes way better than the North American version.

I wanted Mexican and we were on the way in to Vancouver. Ay Chihuahua looked like a nice place. The four of us came in and were welcomed by a lovely young lady. It is like fast food where you order and they begin to prepare right beside you. It advertises authenticity and I must admit it was like a taste of Mexico. They even have several flavors of Mexican soda. My burrito was humongous and delicious. We also got a taco salad that was too much to eat, Chimichanga,and Chiles Rellenos. We got hot sauce on the side (thank goodness) as that tiny little container has some serious heat. There are several places to eat within fifty meters, but Ay Chihuahua is well worth it.
Finally, a decent Mexican restaurant in South Surrey. I lived in Los Angeles for a part of my life and this place did not disappoint. They brought back memories of eating Mexican food in Los Angeles. I ordered the enchiladas and steak tacos and both were delicious. I will be back again.
Best pozole I have ever tried in 16 years in Canada!!! As a mexican, I often get disappointed when it comes to authenticity. Although I understand I'm not in Mexico but this restaurant has a 5-star authentic flavor!
Excellent Mexican food! It's been a while since our last Mexican meal. The beef Chimichanga was melting in my mouth. The used pastry was so delicious. It came with mashed beans like a puree, rice and a tasty salad. The 3 tacos we had came with pulled pork/ chicken, onion, guacamole and cilantro. Even they were delicious, but not the best tacos we had (the best one had 17 ingredients).
Great food, awesome staff, friendly atmosphere and cozy. I only tried one thing it was so good that I could not stop eating it. Would highly recommend.
